The Eperlecques Forest is a forest massif spanning 900 ha, of which 70 have been acquired by the department. The rugged terrain is the result of World War II bombing of the nearby blockhouse, as bomb craters have formed an important network of ponds. The woodlands have been left to age naturally as far as possible, with the fall of old trees leading to the formation of small clearings. A path will lead you through these woods to meet the roe deer and owls that have made it their home.
