The Platier d'Oye National Nature Reserve is the first feeding zone on the Channel/North Sea coast met by migratory birds en route to their winter destinations. In all seasons, a host of birds (ducks, herons, spoonbills and more) can be found across the 391 ha of the nature reserve. Not forgetting gulls, of course, with a colony of Mediterranean gulls and sandwich terns that nest on the flatland. In winter, you might have the chance to meet the yellow-billed linnet, snow bunting and horned larks, coming straight from Scandinavia to spend the winter on our beaches. The Platier d'Oye is undoubtedly one of the ornithological jewels of the Pas-de-Calais department, now equipped with a path accessible to all.
