The Étangs du Romelaëre National Nature Reserve originates from ancient peat bogs whose exploitation, mainly in the 19th century, gave rise to the various bodies of water found across this site. The Romelaëre is an area of about 100 hectares, dedicated to the conservation of biodiversity and the reception of the public, including persons with reduced mobility thanks to a developed route of nearly 2 km. It is also the starting point for many hiking trails.
