Description

The Ternois is of real interest both in terms of fauna and flora. It offers a diversity of landscapes rich in wooded and hilly sites, crossed by waterways. The Authie, the Canche, the Clarence, the Lys and the Ternoise constitute a real reservoir of water for the well-being of walkers and fishermen. Proud of its illustrious past, the Ternois has a remarkable historical and cultural heritage.

 Here are the different steps :
  • Stage 1 (16km): from Saint-Pol-sur-Ternoise station to Diéval
Your adventure begins at Saint-Pol-sur-Ternoise station, where you will be greeted by the typical charm of the Ternois region. Leaving the station, the path takes you through the northern suburbs of the city. On the way, you will pass through the charming towns of Troisvaux and Valhuon. You will have the opportunity to see the Château de Troisvaux, a magnificent historic building which bears witness to the rich past of the region and the Abbey of Belval.
  • Stage 2 (14km): from Diéval to Aumerval 
You will head towards the neighboring village of Bours, renowned for its emblematic Dungeon, the remains of an ancient medieval castle. This imposing structure offers a fascinating insight into the history and architecture of the region. As you pass through the village of Pernes, once a fortified town, you may be able to imagine its tumultuous past through its cobbled streets and ancient ramparts. Your final destination for this stage is the charming village of Aumerval, nestled in the heart of Ternois. Known as "Little Vendée", Aumerval is famous for its royalist harvest and its peaceful atmosphere.
  •  Stage 3 (12km): from Aumerval to Fiefs
 The trail will take you through varied and picturesque landscapes of the Ternois. Passing through Amettes, you will have the opportunity to visit the birthplace of Saint Benoît Labre, a place steeped in spirituality and history. Along the way, you will cross the Nave River, which winds through the commune of Nédonchel over a length of 22 kilometers, offering breathtaking natural panoramas. Continuing your hike, you will probably follow the course of the Nedonchel, another river which has its source in the commune of Fiefs. Subsequently, you will arrive at Fiefs, a typical Ternois village.
  • Étape 4 (15km): de Fiefs à Equirre
En quittant Fiefs, vous suivrez les chemins de campagne à travers des champs verdoyants et des bois pour rejoindre dans la commune de Fontaines-les-boulans puis Equirre. 
  • Étape 5 (15km): d’Equirre à Saint-Martin
Avant de quitter Equirre, vous aurez la possibilité de visiter son église datant su 17ème siècle pour atteindre les village d’Heuchin et du Petit-Anvin, dans lequel se trouve les vestiges d'un château du 15e siècle.
  • Étape 6 (6km): de Saint-Martin à la gare de Saint-Pol-sur-Ternoise
La dernière étape vous ramènera à votre point de départ, la gare de Saint-Pol-sur-Ternoise. Après Saint-Martin, vous cheminez au travers de paysages variés familiers, profitant une dernière fois des charmes naturels du Ternois.
